The owners of the dog were out of town celebrating their anniversary on an Alaskan cruise when they found out what happened to their puppy named George.
According to the GoFundMe account, while George was being taken out to go to the bathroom on Saturday, he escaped through a fence opening that was caused by Friday’s storms. Neighbors and friends searched for George but weren’t able to find him. The next day, ATV riders found George, according to the GoFundMe account.
The GoFundMe account states that George was castrated, shot and dumped on a dirt road in Chesterfield County.
“We seek justice in finding the monster responsible for this heinous crime,” owner Caroline Perry said in the GoFundMe post.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office was called in on Sunday to investigate. Investigators are asking anyone with any information to call 843-398-4501 to help in the case.
The GoFundMe account is also raising money for a reward to help find those responsible for George’s death.
