Dog owners will know that our little furry friends very become part of the family when they come to live with us and we would be heartbroken if anything happened to them. That’s why it is so devastating to think about any animal without a loving home of their own.
Whilst many people want puppies or kittens there is always the push to ‘adopt not shop’ because there are so many animals currently in shelters and looking for forever homes. Battersea Dogs and Cats home has been looking after and rehoming pets since 1860. One of their residents has been at the home for 165 days and is patiently waiting to find a family of his own.
Playful, four-year-old Chili is a lively Beagle looking for a loving home after being rescued from a puppy farm. Chili had a tough start in life and so is in desperate need of a loving family who understands and can take care of his needs.

The beautiful dog is described as a “bundle of energy and likes to have a lot of fun”. Beagles are never happier than when being guided by their noses and according to the leading animal welfare charity, Chili is no exception, enjoying a good sniff around.

Due to Chili’s challenging start he had to spend some time with Battersea’s foster carers, getting some extra training and time to settle in. The charity is looking for an adult home, with owners who are experienced in keeping dogs with a more challenging history. Whilst Chili would love some doggy friends of his own at the park the home he’s adopted into could not have any other pets, visiting children or visiting dogs.
Battersea’s Rehoming and Welfare Manager, Rebecca MacIver, said: “Sadly, Chili hasn’t had the best start in life so we’re really looking for new owners who can give him the love he deserves. Chili has so much love to give the right owners, he has bundles of energy and likes to have a lot of fun. He gives the best cuddles and will make the perfect canine companion for the right home.”
