A French bulldog captured on camera being taken from his home in Wilmington has been reunited with his family.
Jody Martinez’s dog named King was returned Sunday. According to the family, the man who bought the dog at a Home Depot from the suspect returned him to the family.
“My door bell rang and my son said— there’s someone the driveway with a dog that looks like King,” Martinez said.
Fortunately for Martinez and her family, it was indeed King.
The theft occurred last Wednesday and was captured on tape. The suspect was apprehended Friday and told authorities that he had already sold King.
But thanks to a good Samaritan, King the French bulldog is back in the back yard at the Martinez’s home. Ready for belly rubs, back scratches and play time.
Police officers got to the dog napper a day after King went missing. But by that time, the suspect had already sold King to a man at the Home Depot store.
But as news spread that this popular pup was actually stolen— the family that bought him— decided to find his real owner.
“We thanked him gave him a huge thank you for bringing (King) home and where he belongs,” Martinez said. “I’m glad they saw it and everyone who helped out share the news that helped bring King home.”
