Figaro the kitten was born with a condition known as cerebellar hypoplasia, which affects his fine motor skills and coordination, but he is otherwise happy, healthy, and pain-free. He was found as an orphan and brought into Animal Care Centers of NYC, where he was syringe-fed until Little Wanderers NYC, an all-volunteer rescue, was able to get him started in a home environment with round-the-clock care.
Just 10 hours after leaving the shelter, Figaro began eating on his own. His foster mom, Ashley, was amazed at how quickly he adapted to his new home. He explored around his new space and played with anything he laid his paws on. Despite having a plethora of blankets strewn about, he passed out mid playing, on top of his toys.
Figaro is very determined and doesn’t let anything slow him down. He needs assistance with drinking liquids and is figuring out his litter box like a champ. He loves to play and the only time he meows is when he wants someone to play with. He has mastered the art of wrestling and likes to hold his toy in his mouth or with both of his front mittens. He also loves to snuggle on a warm lap and keep his purr motor running on high.
Fostering truly saves lives. It doesn’t take much, just a spare room and a commitment to look after cats and kittens while they wait for their forever home. Figaro is a great example of how fostering can make a difference in a cat’s life. He may be a bit wobbly on his feet, but what he lacks in motor skills, he makes up for in personality. He is full of energy and loves to play.
The importance of fostering animals cannot be overstated. It gives cats and kittens a chance to find a forever home, and it gives them the opportunity to experience a loving home before they find their permanent one. Fostering also helps to reduce overcrowding in shelters, and gives the animals a chance to receive the care and attention they need.
Fostering is not only beneficial for the animals, but it can also be rewarding for the foster family. It gives them the chance to help an animal in need and make a difference in their lives. It can also be a great learning experience for children, as it teaches them the importance of compassion and responsibility.
The story of Figaro is a testament to the power of fostering. Thanks to Ashley and Little Wanderers NYC, this wobbly kitten was able to leave the shelter and receive care in the comfort of a home. He is now a bundle of energy and loves to explore, play, and snuggle. He has a bright future ahead of him and will no doubt bring joy to his new family when he finds them.
Fostering animals is an incredibly rewarding experience, and it can make a huge difference in their lives.
