LOS GATOS – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a dog that was stolen last week in Los Gatos.

The dognapping occurred just after 4 p.m. Friday outside the Safeway at 470 North Santa Cruz Ave., the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department said in a statement.
A woman was caught on camera untying Bowie, a 2-year-old blue merle toy Australian shepherd, and walking him to a black Mercedes-Benz SUV, police said. The vehicle then drove southbound on Santa Cruz Avenue and eastbound on Highway 9.
Bowie was described as white and gray and 15 pounds with two different colored eyes – one light blue and one light blue and brown. He was last seen wearing a blue collar.
The woman who allegedly took Bowie was described as a middle-aged White woman with long reddish hair. She was last seen wearing a tan blouse and reddish shorts.
