March 2023 Pawlidays is a month-long celebration of pet appreciation and awareness, with special days and weeks dedicated to different aspects of pet care and appreciation. The month kicks off with Poison Prevention Awareness Month, which is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of household poisons and toxins to pets.
The first week of the month is Professional Pet Sitters Week, a time to recognize the important role pet sitters play in providing care and companionship to pets while their owners are away. March 3rd is If Pets Had Thumbs Day, a day to recognize the special bond between humans and their pets and to celebrate what our pets can do when they have thumbs!
On March 23rd, Cuddly Kitten Day is celebrated, a day to honor all the sweet and cuddly kittens out there! And on March 28th, Respect Your Cat Day is celebrated, a day to recognize and celebrate the unique personalities of cats and to treat them with respect.
For those looking to get involved in helping homeless, abandoned, or lost cats and kittens, the Community Cats Podcast is offering a Trap-Neuter-Return Certification Workshop on March 4th. This two and a half hour workshop, presented in partnership with Neighborhood Cats, will teach people how to help cats and kittens in their community and how to implement Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).
