The environment is in trouble and humans are largely to blame, but there are things we can do (or not do) to help slow global warming, pollution, deforestation, and other catastrophic events.
One thing that’s been especially detrimental to wildlife and the environment is microplastic. The tiny bits of plastic are infiltrating everything from baby bottles to human organs. Collectively, we should be working to reduce our use of microplastics to protect the environment, but a recent viral video on social media is encouraging the opposite.
The video was shared on TikTok by jadeimogen98 and shows her “getting revenge” on her cheating ex by pouring glitter all over his things. She dumps tubes of glitter in his shoes, soap, lube, and sock drawer.

The video received a lot of praise from people, with many saying they wish they’d thought of it when going through a breakup. While it may seem like an innocent way to get legal revenge, it’s actually incredibly harmful to the environment.
Glitter is a microplastic that’s harming the oceans, soil, and environment. According to National Geographic, an estimated 8 trillion+ microbeads of plastic enter U.S. waters daily. Using glitter as a form of revenge is irresponsible, despite how satisfying it may feel in the moment. If you really feel the need to carry out a similar stunt, try making a more eco-friendly version of confetti by hole-punching leaves or at least get biodegradable glitter.
